Spring Term
This term in 6N our main topic is looking at Ancient Egypt. This will the theme for our Art as well as informing some of the work we will be doing in Literacy. As part of our Egyptian topic we will also be visiting the British Museum and looking closely at the Egyptian exhibition there.
In Literacy we will be looking at various forms of poetry as well as non-fiction texts such as persuasive pieces, journalistic pieces and non-chronological reports
In numeracy we will be looking at a range of areas including fractions, 2D and 3D shape, ratio and proportion and handling various forms of data.
In our science this term will be looking at Micro Organisms, Electricity and Forces. In addition to these areas, some time will be spent on revising other areas including, Plants, Healthy Eating and Changing State.
In our ICT this term we will be looking at how the Internet can be used and critically looking at Websites. In the second half of the term we will be looking at Control and Monitoring by making certain programmes work by giving the computer a series of instructions.
In our RE this term we will be looking at Lent and Easter in the Christian calendar. As well as looking at the work of Christian charities.
In music we will attempting to create, compose and perform our own and others songs. As well as looking at the relationship between melody and lyrics.
As part of PE and Games focus for the term, the children will be taking part in a range of Invasion games and coming up with their own remembering the key elements of them. They will also be looking at Street Dance and how movements are created depending on the musical accompaniment.
